The best laid plans often go awry and so it is with my planned publishing schedule. I was completely blocked with the book I planned to work on. The characters staged a full scale rebellion. Chaos reigned.
And so a new plan emerged, as well as a new novel. I am pleased to announce the release of a new epic Fantasy novel called Nameless. It is the first in the series and now available. I actually had a blast writing it and I personally look forward to many more adventures with these characters. I hope everyone out there is staying safe and secure in these uncertain times. I plan to hunker down and write. For those of you looking for something to read, perhaps you'd like to give Nameless a try. I've posted the details below. Nameless In Pontuse, the Capitol City of Balosh, noble lords employ assistants to amuse and entertain them as well as to distract others from their shortcomings and intentions. Despite being an orphan without a name, Nameless holds the prize position of Assistant to Prince Roland, heir to the throne of Balosh. While he dances and performs acrobatic feats to distract from Roland's often less than regal nature, things aren't exactly what they seem. The Queen looks at Nameless with anger and hatred and when the Prince is sent to the neighboring Kingdom of Genarai to negotiate a treaty, she arranges for an assassin to eliminate Nameless from the Prince's retinue. The threat sends him down an unexpected path leading him to his past and a possible new future. Can he elude death long enough to reclaim his own long forgotten name, or will he forever be Nameless. Enjoy Morning I hope things are going well for you today. Last month instead of posting a monthly short I posted the First Chapter of a new Novel from the upcoming Oak Hill Series. My plan was to keep one chapter up per month. Several of you sent messages saying you liked the chapter (which I appreciate) but that you thought a month between chapters with no reference might make you forget what you read previously. As some days I'd forget my own head if it wasn't attached, I can sympathize. So I will be keeping two chapters up. I just posted the March chapter (chapter 2) and have left the February chapter (Chapter 1) in place for those needing a refresher. When I post Chapter 3 in April I will remove Chapter 1 and leave Chapters 2 and 3 in place. I hope that helps with following the plot. I really appreciate those of you who sent me comments regarding this.
So essentially I wanted to let everyone know March's Chapter is up and available to read. In addition, I will be participating in Smashwords Read an E-book week promotion and between March 1st and 7th, all of my books on Smashwords will be 50% off with some even being free. I'll post a reminder when the sale goes live. I just wanted everyone to have the sale on their radar. Even if you aren't picking up my books, there are many wonderful independent authors with books available and I'd urge you to check it out to find your next great read. Happy Friday everyone! At last we have reached the end of January. I don't know about you but it seems like I've done quite a slog since january first. Both the flu and bronchitis hit our area hard along with the usual sinus infections and head colds the season usually brings. It has slowed everything down significantly making January seem like it lasted for months yet accomplished very little.
Hopefully that is all behind us now. This month (and in the months to follow) I will not be posting the monthly short. Instead I will be posting chapters from the first book in a new series. While this year is going to be dedicated to working to close out older series, I have been writing new ones and you will be able to get a glimpse of at least one of the new things here. Chapter 1 of Tansy Makes a Move Book #1 in the Oak Hill Series is now posted on the front page of my website where the Monthly short usually goes (www.valeriegaumont.weebly.com) At the end of February/ beginning of March I will post chapter 2 and so on. These chapters will not be put into the archives. They will only be offered on the website for the month of their posting. Once they are gone, they are gone until the book is released. I hope you enjoy this exclusive look at the start of a new series. Please feel free to let me know your opinions on the story, your thoughts on chapters versus the Monthly short or whatever else pops into your head. For now, Chapter 1 of Tansy makes a Move is now available. Happy New Years everyone. As it is New Year's eve tonight I went ahead and posted the January short for tomorrow. This one is called Snowfall and I have to say, I enjoyed writing it. In addition I have posted tomorrow's writing prompt up on the main page. I am also going to be posting my own take on the fifteen minute prompts and so I did my writing early (because let's face it, I won't be doing it first thing in the morning tomorrow). Unlike other writing I will not be archiving my prompt writing on the site so it will be only up for the day I do it, replaced of course by the following day's prompt. As a reminder the Smashwords Annual book sale is going on until midnight tonight so hurry if you want to get your orders in. All of my books are 50% off, and some of them are even free. There are many authors participating so take the chance to find some new books for the new year. I hope everyone has a fabulous night and an excellent New Year.
